On behalf of the Ngāti Pāoa Iwi Trust, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to John Hutton for his dedicated service to the board, our whānau, hapū, and iwi as our CEO over the past three years. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.
We are now pleased to introduce our newly appointed CEO for Ngāti Pāoa, Stephanie Cooper-Poka.
Stephanie Cooper-Poka (Ngāti Maniapoto, Taranaki)
Stephanie was born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau, under the gaze of Maungarei and alongside Te Mokoika-ā-Hikuwaru (Panmure Basin) and Ōmaru.
A Chartered Accountant, she brings over 15 years of senior leadership across Māori, Crown and commercial organisations. As Investment Director at Invest New Zealand most recently, she led strategy, operations, and investment solutions while supporting Māori entities to raise capital sustainably. Previously at Whakaata Māori, she led finance and audit transformation plans, workforce/hauora initiatives and commercial strategies initially as Director of People & Finance and then Director of Business Growth.
Stephanie is also currently a trustee on Te Taumata Toi a Iwi, Tāmaki's regional arts trust and is Deputy Chair of Te Puna Tahua Toa, the Māori Accountants Network.
Known for values‑driven leadership with a deep commitment to intergenerational change for tamariki and mokopuna, Stephanie is honoured to serve Ngāti Pāoa. Stephanie is supported by her husband Samuel and sons Leo (8) and Mace (1).
